  • Crockpot Vegetable Glycerine Cannabis Tincture Edibles Recipe - Alcohol-Free Cannabis Tincture

Cannabis tinctures are great to have and are so easy to use either by itself or when preparing edibles or any other cannabis-infused product. But every recipe I've come across requires the use of grain alcohol, which is extremely flammable and can cause the user to feel drunk if the alcohol is not burned off. Making cannabis tincture with alcohol is not helpful for those recovering from and surviving with alcohol and or drug addiction issues. Cannabis is said to help people with addiction issues so we need a solution to this alcohol infusion problem which is actually quite simply done with the use of vegetable glycerin! This type of cannabis tincture will no longer put you at risk of a fire or explosion from burning off the alcohol and it won't trigger your friends and family living with addiction issues. Keep in mind when using glycerin extracts that it does have a sweet flavor profile and the shelf life is not as long. Cook Time: 24 hours Ingredients: 1-ounce cannabis, decarbed 1 cup vegetable glycerin Directions: Add the decarboxylated cannabis and the vegetable glycerin to a crockpot and mix well. Cover the crockpot and set the temperature to low or warm. Set the timer for 24 hours. Make sure to stir the mixture every half hour to an hour to prevent burning. After 24 hours turn off the heat and allow the crockpot to cool to the touch. Filter the cannabis using a cheesecloth and a strainer. Pour the cannabis tincture into tincture bottles and store the tincture in a cool dark place or freezer.

  • How to Decarb Stems and Shake

The decarboxylation aka (decarb) of cannabis stems and shake is the same process of decarbing cannabis buds. Decarboxylation is the process of activating the cannabinoids that include THC and other cannabis byproducts through the process of removing the carbon atoms from the cannabis. In laments terms, you need to heat the cannabis to active the maximum potential potency.  Once the cannabis stems and shake have been decarbed it is then ready to be extracting into butter, oil, or alcohol. It is important to note that you do not want to let cannabis bake over 230F.  If it goes over the suggested temperature you run the risk of denaturing the THC to CBN, therefore, making it less potent and to cause drowsiness. Kitchen Tools: Oven Sharp Grinder An Oven Safe Dish Aluminum Foil Ingredients: cannabis stems and/or shake Directions: Start by preheating your oven to 220F. Due to variances that occur overtime to even the nicest of ovens please make sure to use a new or newer oven thermometer to ensure you are not exceeding 220F. Next, grind the cannabis to the consistency of how you would grind your weed for a blunt or joint. You do not want the cannabis to be too fine or too coarse. Spread the cannabis evenly onto an oven-safe dish. Seal tightly with the aluminum foil. Bake in the oven for 40 minutes at 220F. Once the cannabis is done baking, allow it to completely cool BEFORE removing from the oven and removing the aluminum foil. The cannabis is now completely decarboxylated, fully active, and ready to use in any type of recipe. Enjoy! If you are using CBD hemp flower click here to learn how to decarboxylate CBD! Cannabis Decarboxylation Equation 40 Minutes x Ounces of Cannabis Stems and Shake = Bake Time *Please Note: the 40 minute bake time is based on using 1 single ounce of cannabis, if you are using 2 ounces of cannabis you will need to bake it for approximately 1 hour 20 minutes. • Easy Cannabis Tincture Recipe

When making cannabis tincture, whether THC or CBD, with alcohol it is best to go with the strongest alcohol you can get your hands on. Turning your cannabis flower into cannabis tincture is super easy and requires little effort and time if you are using a really strong alcohol. Some people argue that with 150+ proof the cannabis tincture can be ready in just a few minutes, however, for maximum potency it is best to allow it to sit for at least a few days. Store in a cool, dark place to maintain optimal potency. Some people like to burn the alcohol off in a crockpot however I use cannabis tinctures strictly for cooking, so the alcohol burns off, anyway. Be cautious if you choose to burn the alcohol off from the cannabis tincture as it is likely to cause a fire. Prep Time: Up to 7 days Ingredients: 1-ounce cannabis, ground and decarbed 750ml bottle 190 proof (or higher) grain alcohol Directions: Place the cannabis into a 1-quart jar and add 2 cups of alcohol. Seal the jar tightly and shake well. Store in the freezer. Shake the jar at least 3 times a day for 3-7 days. Filter the contents of the mason jar and transfer the cannabis tincture to a freezer-safe glass jar with a tight-fitting lid. Store in the freezer away from flames and children. Prep Time: 10 minutes Serves 6 Ingredients 6 large eggs 1/4 cup mayonnaise 1-1/2 teaspoon yellow mustard 3 tablespoons buffalo sauce 300mg cannabis tincture 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 12 pieces of thin-sliced celery 1 tablespoon buffalo sauce powder for garnish Directions In a saucepan over high heat, add the eggs and cover with 2 inches of water. Bring to a boil and allow to cook for one minute. Remove from the heat and allow to sit covered for 15 minutes. Rinse the eggs under cold water and store in the refrigerator until ready to use. In a small saucepot, add the buffalo sauce and bring to a bubble. Reduce the heat to medium-low and add the desired amount of cannabis tincture and mix well. Allow the cannabis hot sauce mixture to barely simmer for 5-10 minutes while stirring occasionally. Refrigerate until cool. Crack the eggshells and peel under cool running water. Be careful to not damage the egg whites. Halve eggs lengthwise, then pop out the yolks into a small bowl and place whites on a serving platter. • Benefits of Cannabis Bone Broth + Recipe

Bone broth is a nutrition-packed liquid that can be used as a base for soups and sauces, or as a healthy drink served cold or hot. This superfood can be dated back to the prehistoric ages when humans used to utilize their food supplies to the fullest extent. Bone broth can be made from almost any animal you could think of from pork to veal and shrimp and buffalo and from almost any part of the animal like the gizzards, beaks, and hooves. Keep this in mind when trimming raw meats or before tossing leftover meat or bones into the garbage. You can also use veggie trimmings such as celery or carrots when making the bone broth for a more flavorful and nutritious bone broth. Tightly wrap the leftover cannabis plant material after your next extraction in a cheesecloth in the freezer and drop it into the bone broth when you bring the broth to a low simmer to maximize your cannabis supply! Store the remaining bone broth in a freezer-safe container in the freezer for up to 6 months. What are the Benefits of Cannabis Bone Broth? • Can CBD Help Build Muscle?

Just like pre-workout, whey protein, and probiotics were once considered the newest trend in the fitness world we can now add CBD as the newest favorite dietary supplement for fitness fanatics. CBD can be found in everything from water and gummies to salves and bath bombs. But is CBD the dietary supplement that everyone is raving over or is it just another gimmick product to cheat you out of your money by focusing on fixing your insecurities? Before we can say confidently that CBD aids in a successful workout we must first understand what CBD is and how it helps our bodies. What is CBD and Is CBD Legal? Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the hundreds of medicinally beneficial compounds found within the cannabis sativa plant or more commonly known as hemp. A cannabis plant is considered to be hemp when the plant contains less than 3% THC. CBD should not be confused with the cannabinoid, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the psychoactive compound that causes a person to feel euphoric effects, as CBD will not cause any feelings of euphoria no matter how much you may consume. CBD has a laundry list of health benefits but is most commonly known for improving anxiety, depression, cancer, and epilepsy and has recently been removed from the federal drug schedule with the passing of the 2018 Farm Bill signed by President Donald Trump. CBD rich hemp is now legal in all 50 states for cultivation and distribution including production and extraction of CBD, however, there are a handful of states that prohibit the use of hemp. How Does CBD Help Build Muscle? In order to understand how CBD helps build muscle you first have to know how the human body builds and breakdown muscle. In order to optimally build muscle, maintaining a regular work out regime that keeps a balance between catabolic (aerobics & cardio) and anabolic (strength training) workout routines combined with a healthy diet is king. Catabolic hormones, like cortisol, are known to break down muscle tissue within the human body. Cortisol is also known as the stress hormone so anyone who is dedicating hour(s) a day to the build-up of muscle mass and increased muscle tone needs to keep their cortisol levels low. High levels of cortisol are one of the leading problems for those who work out regularly but are struggling to tone or build muscle. Cortisol levels are at their lowest while the human body is sleeping, and guess what CBD does? It helps the human body achieve higher rates of REM sleep, which is how CBD indirectly aids in building muscle and aids in the fight against muscle breakdown. This is important because intense and heavy workouts cause an increase in the release of cortisol. Can CBD Help with Muscle Recovery? Just about every healthy human has experienced sore muscles and muscle fatigue at some point in their life whether from a workout, playing as a child, or from doing hard labor. When we work out microscopic tears occur in the muscle tissue that helps aid in muscle growth however these tears to the muscle tissue also cause fatigue, inflammation, and muscle soreness. Some people choose to use alcohol, over the counter pain relievers, or prescription pain drugs to numb the muscle pain after a strenuous workout or day of work. CBD has wonderful anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties that can replace the need for the use of pain killers and/ or alcohol. Relaxing in a hot bath with a CBD bath bomb can loosen and relieve sore muscles while decreasing the recovery time after each workout. Not into baths? Try massaging CBD menthol + camphor salve deep into your sore muscles for nearly instant pain relief. What is the Best Method for CBD Use? There are so many different ways to use CBD from pre-rolls to salves and mani-pedi fizzies. CBD can even be consumed in food and drink form or as capsules and tinctures. There's no right way to take CBD, but you can take CBD in a way that works best for you! Just another benefit to using CBD :) Read about the 3 Best CBD Products Here

  • Cannabis Dosing THC & CBD

Just as everyone has individual fingerprints, everyone has a unique experience with cannabis. How a single dose affects you may not affect someone else the same way nor will a person who has previously and regularly used cannabis will feel the effects as strong as a first time user. Some people who have a more sensitive endocannabinoid system require a very low dosage to feel the effects of cannabis. Conversely, some people cannot absorb enough THC to feel the effects, but this is extremely rare. When used correctly cannabis, edibles can cause safe, effective, enjoyable, and long-lasting effects. However, if not fully aware of how powerful cannabis edibles can be, adverse side effects can be felt. It wasn't until 1988 when a group of scientists discovered the endocannabinoid system.  What is an endocannabinoid system? The endocannabinoid system is a sophisticated group of neuromodulator receptors and signaling pathways that regulate a various physiological processes such as mood, memory, pain, appetite and movement. Here's a list of 12 different cannabinoids found: CBC - Cannabichromene Non-psychoactive Potential medicinal value: pain and inflammation, maintaining brain homeostasis, neural stem progenitor cells (NSPCs), acne, alzheimer's, depression, bacterial growth inhibitor, bone growth promotion, and antiproliferative CBCA - Cannabichromenate When CBCA is aged or decarboxylated it breaks down to CBC, CBL, and CBLA Potential medicinal values: tumor shrinkage, antiproliferative, anti-fungal, and anti-inflammatory CBD - Cannabidiol Non-psychoactive Potential medicinal values: pain relief, reduce inflammation, appetite stimulator, nausea, psychosis relief, epilepsy, muscle spasms, blood sugar homeostasis, nervous system degeneration prevention, psoriasis treatment, reduces artery blockage, kills/slows bacterial growth, inhibits cancer growth, and promotes bone growth CBDA - Cannabidiolic acid Non-psychoactive Potential medicinal values: antiproliferative and reduces inflammation CBDV - Cannabidivarin Non-psychoactive Potential medicinal values: anticonvulsant and epilepsy management CBGA - Cannabigerolic acid Precursor to three major cannabinoids: tetrahydrocannabinolic acid (THCA), cannabidiolic acid (CBDA), and cannabichromenic acid (CBCA) Potential medicinal values: pain relief, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and anti-proliferative (inhibits cancer cell growth) CBG - Cannabigerol Non-psychoactive Potential medicinal values: pain relief, inflammation reduction, inhibits bacterial growth, anti-fungal, and promotes bone growth CBN - Cannabinol Mildly psychoactive Potential medicinal values: pain relief, muscle spasm suppression, and sedative THC - Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol Psychoactive Potential medicinal values: Pain relief, appetite stimulator, nausea, and antispasmodic THCA - Tetrahydrocannabinolic acid After harvest and even more after decarboxylation THCA converts to THC Potential medicinal values: Inflammation reducer, seizure reduction, and inhibits cell proliferation THCP - Tetrahydrocannabiphorol Psychoactive Potential medicinal values: hypomotility, analgesia, catalepsy, and decreased rectal temperature THCV - Tetrahydrocannabivarin Psychoactive Potential medicinal values: appetite suppression, seizure suppression, lowers blood sugar, and promotes bone growth

  • Concentrate Dosage Equation

Dosing used to be confusing to me until this knowledgeable and very patient fella in a Facebook group walked me through the equation step by step. Unless you get your stuff tested in a licensed lab, there is no knowing how strong your edibles are. Concentrate Dosage Equation: Concentrate Potency Percentage x 100 = Number of Milligrams Milligrams/48 teaspoons = Milligrams of THC per one teaspoon dose *Example using a concentrate with 86% THC to make 1 cup concentrate infused oil or butter. Please note there are 48 teaspoons in a single cup. 86% x 100 = 860mg 860mg/48 teaspoons = 17.92mg of THC per one teaspoon dose CLICK HERE TO USE THE STONER STRATEGIES EDIBLES CALCULATOR

  • How to Decarb CBD Flower

The decarboxylation aka (decarb) of CBD (cannabidiol)  is the process of activating the cannabinoids by removing the carbon atoms from the plant.  Once your buds are decarbed they are ready for creating butter, oils, and extractions. It’s important to note that you do not want to bake over 220F.  If the CBD is baked at a higher temperature, you risk denaturing the CBD making it less effective. Right now, we’re going to go over the decarbing method using your oven. Kitchen Tools: Oven Sharp Grinder An Oven Safe Dish Aluminum Foil Ingredients: 1 ounce CBD flower Directions: Preheat oven to 220F. Due to variances that occur over time to even the nicest of ovens please make sure to use a new or newer oven thermometer to ensure you are not exceeding 220F. Grind the CBD flower and remove stems/seeds if necessary. Evenly spread ground CBD onto an oven-safe dish. Seal tightly with aluminum foil. Bake in the oven for 1 hour and 20 minutes @ 220F. *Please Note: the 1 hour 20 minute bake time is based on using 1 single ounce of CBD flower. If you are using 2 ounces of CBD flower, you will need to bake it for approximately 2 hours 40 minutes. If you are using cannabis with THC over 0.3% use the cannabis decarboxylation method! Click here! The CBD Decarboxylation Equation 1 Hour 20 minutes x Ounces of CBD Flower  = Bake Time Once the flower has finished baking allow it to cool completely BEFORE removing the aluminum foil. Your CBD is now completely decarboxylated, fully active, and ready to use in any type of recipe. Enjoy!

  • 3 Reasons to Try CBD Oil

There are a million and one reasons to use CBD oil for health and wellness. However, there are other reasons to give CBD oil a try that are outside of the health spectrum. Here are 3 other reasons to try CBD: 1. CBD Oil Can Be Delivered to Your Door While cannabis is legal for adults in Canada and Portugal, marijuana is still illegal for many people around the world. In the areas facing marijuana prohibition access can be difficult. However, many people are now capable of easily accessing CBD oil buy making purchases through online retailers. Those living in the United States can now access CBD oil in all 50 states, as well as those across Europe. 2. CBD Oil Does Not Cause A Head High CBD does not contain any psychoactive effects that will cause you to feel high. Because there is no intoxication with CBD oil you can ingest CBD oil at any point during your day for pain or anxiety relief while remaining clear-headed. Safe to drive, care for children, and loved ones while experiencing the relief you need. 3. Drug Tests Do Not Screen For CBD The majority of drug tests administered from employers, the judicial systems, and drug stores test for THC, not CBD. If you purchase high CBD strains with trace amounts of THC, you may fail a drug test. The only way to be sure to pass a drug test is to use purified CBD oil isolates.

  • Popular Forms of CBD

Photo by Pixabay Published February 4, 2019 Updated May 14, 2020 Popular Forms of CBD CBD is available for purchase online as well as in many health food and dispensaries across Canada and the U.S. You may purchase CBD in a variety of forms that suit your consumption style. The following is a list of types of CBD products currently available within the CBD market: CBD Oil CBD oil can be found online as well as in most cannabis dispensaries. CBD oil is made from creating a concentrated essential oil from the plant resin.  The plant resin is specifically made from high CBD hemp or high CBD cannabis.  Many online retailers and marijuana dispensaries offer pure CBD as well as low THC high CBD products. Most people choose to place the CBD oil underneath their tongue or mixed in with their food. Since CBD oil is in a concentrated form, it is potent.  Activation time is rapid as well, with some people feeling the effects of CBD within 15 to 30 minutes after ingesting the CBD oil. Though it is important to be mindful that some people metabolize food faster than others so for some taking CBD oil with food may slow activation time. CBD Edibles Searching for stress relieving foods? It is possible to infuse CBD into your favorite food and drinks just like cannabis. The only exception is that these edibles won't cause any of the psychoactive effects like THC edibles do. That's right, CBD edibles allow for you to enjoy the relaxing effects of cannabis-based edibles while staying clear-headed enough to not experience the head and body highs. Unfortunately ingesting CBD edibles takes the longest to feel the benefits because the human body has to digest the CBD compounds before the CBD can be absorbed into the bloodstream or lymphatic system. This process can take as little as 30 minutes or up to two hours. Some may suggest taking higher doses when ingesting CBD. CBD Flower CBD comes in bud form that looks and smells just like cannabis. CBD can be found in many cannabis strains. These different strains have different CBD vs THC ratios, some containing less than 0.3% THC content. High CBD cannabis flower can be found at most medical and recreational cannabis dispensaries. Some online shops may ship hemp CBD flower to your doorstep. CBD Topicals CBD can be applied directly to the skin in the form of topical creams, balms, cosmetics, and salves. As a topical, the antioxidants in CBD can reduce the damage from radiation, stress, and toxins. CBD can also ease pain and inflammation when applied to a localized area. CBD Tincture CBD tincture is like the CBD oil in that it is typically placed underneath the tongue or mixed into foods. The big difference here is that CBD oil remains an oil while the CBD tincture dissolves the hemp oil into an alcohol or glycerine base.  CBD tinctures can be quite potent with a fast activation time of around 30 minutes. If the CBD tincture is ingested with food the activation time may take slightly longer. CBD Suppositories CBD suppositories are the newest trend in the CBD market. Companies are now offering vaginal or rectal suppositories that are infused with CBD or THC.  These are used to ease pain, inflammation, and discomfort.  From the little research surrounding CBD and THC suppositories, it has been shown that rectal suppositories containing THC did not enter the bloodstream without the help of additional chemicals. It is still unclear if CBD would render the same results. However, rectal and vaginal suppositories have shown to possibly be useful in easing symptoms that are affecting the tissues in the localized region.
