There's a ton of cannabis churro recipes out there but the ones I've come across expect you to bake instead of fry the churro dough. For me, that just won't work so I came up with a recipe that covered the fried churros in cannabis sugar! Whip up a batch of our cannabis chocolate ganache for extra potency!
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Serves 6
Skill Level: Easy
Ingredients:
1 cup cannabis sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 cup whole milk
1/4 cup butter
2 teaspoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup all-purpose flour
4 large eggs
3 cups oil
Directions:
Mix together cinnamon and cannabis sugar in a small bowl and set aside.
In a heavy medium saucepan add the milk, butter, sugar, and salt.
Bring to a boil stirring until the sugar dissolves and the butter melts.
Reduce the heat to medium-low.
Add the flour stirring vigorously for about 1 minute until a shiny dough mass forms.
Transfer to a large bowl and allow to cool for 5 minutes.
Once cooled use an electric mixer to beat in the eggs 1 at a time.
Continue beating until a smooth, shiny, sticky paste forms.
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Spoon batter into a pastry bag fitted with a large star tip. Pipe batter into hot oil in 3 1/2- to 4-inch-long ribbons (use a knife if necessary, to cut batter at end of star tip).
Fry churros until golden brown and cooked through in the center for about 2 minutes per side.
Transfer cooked churros to paper towels and allow to cool for 5 minutes.
Toss in cannabis cinnamon sugar to coat.
Serve warm with cannabis chocolate ganache.
