How to Clean Your Water Pipe - Sea Salt & Isopropyl Alcohol Method

Having a bong or any other glass smoking device like a dab rig, glass pipe, or bubbler will require regular cleaning.  The resin build-up will eventually negatively affect the flavor of your cannabis or concentrates.  While it may seem like a daunting taste to clean all of the nooks and crannies of your glass bong its actually an easy feat that can be done in no time at all.

What you need to get your glass water pipe clean:

• coarse sea salt 

• isopropyl alcohol

• a large Ziploc bag depending on the size of the bong your cleaning

Directions to getting your bong squeaky clean:

1. Empty the bong of all liquids and separate any removable pieces like the keck clip, downstem, bowl, diffuser, or slide.

2. Give the bong and the other pieces a good rinse.

3. In the base of your bong add the coarse sea salt or baking soda. 

4. In a ziplock bag place the sea salt and add the removable pieces.

5. Add alcohol to the base of your bong and the ziplock bag and mix with the sea salt well.  

6. Allow to sit for 5 to 10 minutes depending on how much resin has built up in the glass bong.

7. After the solution has sat for some time mix well again.

8. Pour out the cleaning solution from the base of your bong and remove the bong pieces from the ziplock bag.

9. Rinse the bong and the bong pieces well.

10. Reassemble your bong and enjoy your next smoke sesh.
