French onion soup is a soulful recipe that brings the flavors of traditional french onion soup and cannabis together beautifully.

4 large yellow onions
2 large sweet onions
5 tablespoons cannabutter
4 sprigs fresh thyme
2 bay leaves
3/4 cup white wine or sherry
4 cups beef broth
1-1/2 cups of water, divided
6 baguettes (diagonally sliced, 1/2-inch-thick)
6 slices Gruyere cheese
Preheat oven to 340F/170C.
Slice the onions into thin strings.
In a large soup pot heat the onions, cannabutter, thyme, and bay leaves over medium-low heat.
Stir occasionally for 5 minutes or until the onions are caramelized.
Add the white wine and cook for an additional 3 minutes.
Add beef broth and water. Simmer for about 45 minutes.
Ladle soup into oven-safe bowls, add a slice of bread, and top with a slice of cheese.
Bake for 8 minutes or until the cheese has melted to a golden brown.
