Ingredients

  • 4 Kaiser rolls, sliced

  • 1/4 cup Cannabutter (melted)

  • 1 tbsp Butter

  • 1 tbsp Sunflower oil

  • 1 lb Sausage (see homemade spice blend below)

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • 4 large leaves Green lettuce

  • 8 slices Onion

  • 8 Pickles, halved

  • 4 slices American cheese

  • Optional: Ketchup, BBQ sauce, or CannaMayo

Homemade Sausage Patty Blend

  • 1 lb Ground pork

  • 1 Egg

  • 2 tsp Chopped fresh sage

  • 2 tsp Salt

  • 1 tsp Fennel seeds

  • 1 clove Garlic, minced

  • ¼ small Onion, finely chopped

  • 1 tsp Crushed red pepper

  • 2 tbsp Maple syrup (optional, for a hint of sweetness)

Step-by-Step Directions

  1. Toast the Buns: Preheat your oven to 340°F (170°C). Brush the cut sides of your kaiser rolls with melted cannabutter. Toast in the oven for 5 minutes until golden and slightly crispy. Set aside.

  2. Mix the Sausage: In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, egg, sage, salt, fennel seeds, garlic, onion, crushed red pepper, and maple syrup. Using clean hands, mix thoroughly until all spices are evenly distributed. Form the mixture into 4 uniform patties.

  3. Sear: Heat the sunflower oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the sausage patties for approximately 4 minutes per side. Once browned and cooked through, remove and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.

  4. Melt the Cheese: During the last minute of cooking, top each patty with a slice of American cheese. Cover the pan briefly if needed to ensure the cheese melts perfectly.

  5. Assembly: Build your sandwich by spreading your desired sauce (mayonnaise, ketchup, or BBQ sauce) on the bottom roll. Layer with onion, pickles, the cheesy sausage patty, and a fresh leaf of green lettuce. Cap with the top roll and serve immediately.
