Crockpot Vegetable Glycerine Cannabis Tincture Edibles Recipe - Alcohol-Free Cannabis Tincture

Updated: Feb 1, 2022

Cannabis tinctures are great to have and are so easy to use either by itself or when preparing edibles or any other cannabis-infused product. But every recipe I've come across requires the use of grain alcohol, which is extremely flammable and can cause the user to feel drunk if the alcohol is not burned off. Making cannabis tincture with alcohol is not helpful for those recovering from and surviving with alcohol and or drug addiction issues. Cannabis is said to help people with addiction issues so we need a solution to this alcohol infusion problem which is actually quite simply done with the use of vegetable glycerin! This type of cannabis tincture will no longer put you at risk of a fire or explosion from burning off the alcohol and it won't trigger your friends and family living with addiction issues. Keep in mind when using glycerin extracts that it does have a sweet flavor profile and the shelf life is not as long.

Cook Time: 24 hours

Ingredients:

  • 1-ounce cannabis, decarbed

  • 1 cup vegetable glycerin

Directions:

  1. Add the decarboxylated cannabis and the vegetable glycerin to a crockpot and mix well.

  2. Cover the crockpot and set the temperature to low or warm.

  3. Set the timer for 24 hours.

  4. Make sure to stir the mixture every half hour to an hour to prevent burning.

  5. After 24 hours turn off the heat and allow the crockpot to cool to the touch.

  6. Filter the cannabis using a cheesecloth and a strainer.

  7. Pour the cannabis tincture into tincture bottles and store the tincture in a cool dark place or freezer.
